What if I want information about FASD?

For general information about FASD, please contact the FASD Center for Excellence at fasdcenter@samhsa.hhs.gov or call our toll free number 1-866-STOPFAS (1-866-786-7327).

Who is eligible to request training, TA, or an event speaker?

The FASD Center for Excellence provides training, technical assistance, and speaking at specific conferences or events to a wide variety of people, including persons with an FASD and members of their family, service providers, program and system administrators, government officials, and women in treatment.

Is the FASD Center able to fulfill all requests for training, TA and event speaking?

Unfortunately, that is not possible at this time. However we do review, consider, and respond to all requests. If we are not able to fulfill the request, we will provide you with a list of alternative resources that you can follow up with.

Will the training or TA be targeted to our needs?

Yes, we will tailor any training and technical assistance to the specific needs of your group. The Center has moved to a more targeted approach to impact FASD prevention and treatment. In order to optimize the effects of training and technical assistance, followup will be a necessary component of our approach.

How do I request these services?

To request training, TA, or an event speaker, you will need to complete and return the appropriate request form (above). A representative from the FASD Center will contact you within 3 working days. All requests to the FASD Center for Excellence need to be approved by an official at SAMHSA. If you do not receive a confirmation that your form has been received within 3 working days, please contact us at fasdcenter@samhsa.hhs.gov.

If we have identified a trainer with FASD knowledge in our area, will the Center pay for that person to conduct a training?

No. While the Center does not charge a fee to conduct an approved training, we are not able to pay for outside trainers.
